What Khamrah smells like

Khamrah opens on cinnamon and nutmeg with just enough bergamot to stop it turning into mulled wine, then moves to the accord it is famous for: dates, sweet and dark and slightly boozy, with praline behind them. Tuberose and mahonial keep a thread of floral freshness running through the middle so the sweetness has somewhere to breathe. The base is deliberately dense — vanilla, tonka, amberwood, myrrh and benzoin — and akigalawood gives the last hours a peppery woody bite that keeps it from ever going flat.

Top notes are Cinnamon, Nutmeg and Bergamot; the heart is Dates, Praline, Tuberose and Mahonial; the base settles on Vanilla, Tonka Bean, Amberwood, Myrrh, Benzoin and Akigalawood.

When to wear it

A winter and evening fragrance in the Gulf tradition. Excellent for Ramadan evenings, weddings and cold nights; it is genuinely too much for daytime heat. It is at its best in winter and autumn, it is a harder wear in summer.
