What Black Diamond Incense smells like

The opening is deceptively fresh — aquatic notes with birch and blackcurrant — and gives little indication of where the fragrance is heading. Incense arrives quickly in the heart alongside sandalwood and vanilla, and from there Black Diamond Incense turns decisively oriental: amber, leather, smoke and oud build a base with real weight and presence. It shares its overall mood with Parfums de Marly Layton, but the incense and agarwood streak give it a distinctly Gulf character.

Top notes are Aquatic Notes, Birch and Blackcurrant; the heart is Incense, Sandalwood and Vanilla; the base settles on Amber, Leather, Smoke and Oud.

When to wear it

Evenings, occasions and night outings, and it performs best in cool weather and through the Egyptian winter. Not the obvious choice for the hottest part of the day. It is at its best in winter and autumn, it is a harder wear in summer.
