What Eros Flame smells like

Chinotto is the material that makes this one interesting: a bitter Italian citrus that, alongside mandarin and lemon, gives the opening a sharpness ordinary orange notes cannot. Madagascar pepper and rosemary add an aromatic bite, then geranium, rose and pepperwood carry the middle. The base is where Flame separates from the rest of the Eros line — vanilla and tonka bean over Texas cedar, sandalwood, patchouli and oakmoss, so a citrus-forward opening finishes warm and creamy rather than fresh.

Top notes are Mandarin Orange, Madagascar Pepper, Lemon, Chinotto and Rosemary; the heart is Geranium, Rose and Pepperwood; the base settles on Vanilla, Tonka Bean, Sandalwood, Texas Cedar, Patchouli and Oakmoss.

When to wear it

Better after dark than at noon. Autumn and winter suit it best, and the citrus keeps it from ever feeling stuffy indoors. It is at its best in winter and autumn, and still works well in spring.
