What Imagination smells like

Jacques Cavallier Belletrud built Imagination around Ambrox, which Louis Vuitton calls perfumery's white gold, and used it to rework the ambery accord into something bright rather than heavy. Citron, Calabrian bergamot and Sicilian orange open it with real lift; Tunisian neroli, Nigerian ginger and Ceylon cinnamon give the heart a gentle spiced warmth; and the base pairs Chinese black tea with ambroxan, guaiac wood and olibanum. The tea is the signature — dry, slightly smoky, and what stops the citrus from disappearing after twenty minutes.

Top notes are Citron, Calabrian Bergamot and Sicilian Orange; the heart is Tunisian Neroli, Nigerian Ginger and Ceylon Cinnamon; the base settles on Chinese Black Tea, Ambroxan, Guaiac Wood and Olibanum.

When to wear it
