Louis Vuitton Ombre Nomade Eau de Parfum — Eau de Parfum, 100 ml. Jacques Cavallier Belletrud's oud for Louis Vuitton — dense, smoky agarwood softened only by saffron-warmed rose.
What Ombre Nomade smells like
A brief tart flash of raspberry is the only lightness Ombre Nomade allows itself. After that the agarwood takes full command: resinous, smoky and dark, with a birch-tar undercurrent that keeps it unsentimental. Rose provides softness without sweetness, threaded through with the metallic warmth of saffron and lifted by incense and geranium. Benzoin and amberwood mellow the smoke on the dry-down into a close, resinous skin signature. It is the most powerful fragrance in this catalogue and one of the most respected modern ouds.
The composition is built from Agarwood (Oud), Rose, Incense, Raspberry, Saffron, Amberwood, Benzoin, Birch and Geranium.
When to wear it
A night-time and cold-weather fragrance, and a natural fit for Gulf and Egyptian oud tastes. One spray is a statement; two is a decision. It is at its best in winter and autumn, it is a harder wear in summer.
