How a rope link wears

Rope is made of small links twisted into a spiral, so instead of one flat reflective face it presents dozens of tiny angled ones. That is why a rope chain reads as texture from across a room while a flat chain reads as a line — it never looks completely still. It is the most forgiving chain style to wear open-collar, because the texture reads as intentional even against a plain t-shirt.

At 60 cm this sits below the collarbone, which is a deliberate choice: long enough to show outside a shirt, long enough to layer under a shorter chain without the two fighting each other.

Care

316L does not tarnish, so there is no polishing routine. Rinse it after the sea or a heavy gym session and dry it — salt and sweat sit in the twists of a rope link more than they do on a flat chain. A soft dry cloth restores the shine.
